Branstad visits Library
Branstad visits for a town meeting.
Governor Terry Branstad visits the Pocahontas Public Library
for Town Meeting and to recognize the Library for adding Iowa Workforce access points for the community to use.
Governor Terry Bransted and Lieutenant Governor Kim Reynolds was joined with about 50 community members for a town hall meeting
to voice concerns on the economy, jobs, and funding for schools. The Governor also mentioned Iowa Workforce and how several
offices would be closing at the end of August 2011. He was very appreciative that libraries were willing to step up and allow access
points to be put on their computers for the public to use to fill out unemployment forms, resumes, and search for jobs. See the
Pocahontas Record Democrat, August 31, 2011 issue for the entire news article on the visit. People are welcome to stop at
the library to use the Iowa Workforce Website. If you need assistance getting started then ask a Librarian to help you get
started.
